Support NCBI’s Independent Living Programmes
Your gift is the Gift of Independence.
Being blind and visually impaired makes simple activities like a walk or running more difficult. Often feelings of lack of confidence and isolation are common as blind or visually impaired people withdraw from participating in local recreational, sporting or cultural activities yet it is so important to remain an active citizen.
You are helping a person avail of NCBI training to develop the skills for day to day living, enabling them to remain in their own home or get around safely. Simple tasks that sighted people take for granted but for those with low vision can pose a real danger or can increase their dependency on others. This gift can also fund a place on the NCBI pre-employment training programme giving a person the confidence to return to work or secure their first job or enables NCBI to ensure a person remains socially active in their community.
